The rise of South Eastern Europe as a blossoming region for electronic dance music

This summer we will again be sured that South Eastern Europe and the Balkans are about to become the most interesting places in the world when it comes to electronic dance music. Two of the most attractive events in the industry are the dance music festival and conference SeeMe in Sofia (Bulgaria) and music festival EXIT Novi Sad (Serbia). The succes of SeeMe 2008 places it together with the big heads like the Miami Winter Music Conference, MIDEM in Cannes, Sonar in Barcelona and Amsterdam Dance Event.

Now we are just waiting for amazing EXIT festival in Serbia to kick off! This year the team deeply impresses with a real ass-kicking line up. Names like Deep Dish, Booka Shade, Kruder & Dorfmeister, Laurent Garnier, Sven Vath, Soulwax live, Ministry, 2ManyDJs, Tiga, Axwell, M.I.A, Primal Scream and many many more lovely artists will douptless make this festival live up to the U.K. Festival Award it recieved as The Best Festival on the Continent. Even SeeMe awarded EXIT for being "the best SEE event".

As Jesse Voorn commented on SeeMe, EXIT as well will show "that they definitely know what dance is all about in Eastern-Europe. They kicked some unbelievable ass..."

So, it is time to go South East!

And in this context we are very proud to be able to present the upcoming releases from some of the regions most interesting house producers/djs. PROLOOP RECORDINGS brings you the sounds of the Balkan underground - available on BEATPORT from July/August. Prelisten here!
